How to Migrate QuickBooks Desktop Data into QuickBooks Online Easily?
Procedure to move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online
The steps below should guide you on the walkway of moving
your company files to QuickBooks Online.
Step 1: Check File size
Run QB Desktop, then press F2. Take note of the company file size, and by all means it should not be more than 3 50,000 for the import process to be successful.
Step 2: Preparation of data in QuickBooks Desktop

Go for any data modification in the company file
and also save a backup of the file before the import process.

Also, convert the data at the end of every
month, year, or quarter.
• Create backup of the file before you start the export to QuickBooks Online. For this, log into QB Desktop, then go to File, Backup, Company, and finally Create local backup.
Step 3: Creation of new QuickBooks
Online Account
Open QuickBooks Online account, and provide your correct details including name, email id, contact number, and the password.
Step 4: Open QuickBooks Desktop

Log into QuickBooks Desktop.
· Convert data to export it later on to QuickBooks Online.
Step 5: Use the Export Company File
option
Go for the “Export Company file” option to transfer the data from QuickBooks Desktop to QBO.
Step 6: Choose Importing of
Inventory
When importing, click on yes to import inventory into QuickBooks Online. The inventory shall be adjusted by first in, first out (FIFO) technique. Otherwise, if you don’t want to import the inventory, just click on No.
Step 7: Copy your Data Files
When the company data is successfully imported, go for complete
your Setup tab.
Then visit QuickBooks Online to review if the process
successfully helped to move your QuickBooks desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
